Anyway, at the time I was crashing at my buddies house becasue the residences at Purdue University were closed for the Winter Break, so he gave me a ride to this cafe that I go to once a week. Turns out, I left my phone at his house and when I realized this, I realized that I won't be able to give him a call to pick me up when I'm done (I don't remember his number...).
When I felt it was time for me to leave, I attempted to look for his phone number in the phone book. Looking through, it occurred to me that searching through a phone book for someones home number (his parents's, mind you, his condo wouldn't be in there) wasn't very effective if the persons name is SAM SMITH. Wow, there's a lot of Smiths out there. In Lafayette, I'll have you know...No one lives in Lafayette...no one. Apparently "Smith" was more popular of a last name than I expected.
Anyway, with no lead, I returned the phone book to the barista at the cafe and began to think of other ways to reach Sam. The lady behind the counter was talking on her green phone and that inspired me to try calling my own phone, in hopes that someone would pickup and give Sam a call to relay the necessary "pick up instructions". Once again, failure. I called like 5 times and no luck. So, I was SOL, for the time being...
The phone that I was using had internet capabilities and was therefore able to connect to Facebook. Thank you technology-awesomeness. So, after like 15 minutes of trying to reach a "Smith" in a world where everyones last name is such, I finally got his number off Facebook on The Green Phone of Salvation.
